Latitude 50 Limited is an established company based in Cornwall UK providing Executive Information and E-Commerce systems to a diverse customer base throughout the UK. The company has operated from Helston since October 2003 and was formed from the merger of two existing consultancies with over 40 years experience in the Information Technology industry. Our business is to design, build and support 'executive information' systems and provide comprehensive e-commerce systems for any size of business. The Latitude 50 team bring with them a breadth of experience in the areas of marketing, design, management and IT systems skills - a combination well suited to todays move towards on-line marketing and management. Latitude 50 has a commitment to using locally resourced skills wherever possible and provide training for this when it is necessary to maintain this approach. We consider that the skills base within our Company is second to none and we are confident that we are able to meet the needs of this project.
Bryn Hackland - Managing Director
Bryn trained initially as an accountant with the Boots Company
in Nottingham and worked in Paris for the company in the 1970's
setting up the accounting systems for their first European joint venture.
He then worked as the Financial Controller of a Mining Equipment Supplier
with an annual turnover of £5m.
Bryn's computing experience began in the early 1980's and since then he has had key roles as: as well as a number of other IT/management related assignments. Bryn also qualified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Novell CNE. Alongside his in-depth technical expertise, he has had extensive consultancy expertise in a variety of retail, manufacturing and service industries. Bryn relocated to Cornwall in 2002 with his family and plays an active role in the economic regeneration of the region as Vice Chairman of West Cornwall Business Together, Chairman of Helston Business Forum and a member of the South Kerrier Alliance Strategy Group. Bryn is Managing Director of Latitude 50 Limited and has specific responsibility for Sales & Marketing, Technical Development and the future strategy of the company. He is also Managing Director of 3B International Limited, a courier and distribution business in Helston.
Alan Rowntree - Associate Consultant - Executive Systems
Alan spent the first 18 years of his career in the field of IT
as a Systems Designer and then as a Project Manager in the UK and South Africa. During those early years he pioneered the development of Financial Modelling and Management Information Systems techniques with a number of companies. In 1981 using these new techniques he founded Alan Rowntree Ltd, specializing in consultancy tasks related to providing industry management with Decision-Making tools based on Executive Information via IT systems.
He has managed the successful development of Executive Information Systems in
small, medium and large companies worldwide.
Most of these systems are designed using proprietary software such as Microsoft Access so that clients are able to maintain them if they wish, link them to external sources of data from almost any system, or tie them into the internal office systems for emailing, word processing or accounts. Alan has become an authority on the subject of linking the Created Value of a company with the payroll, and has managed a number of assignments of implementing client staff incentive schemes which have had a dramatically beneficial effect on company profit. He has been accredited as a Management Consultant with Investors in Industry, Institute of Enterprise, the Business Resource Service and Horwood International. The company Alan Rowntree Ltd merged into Latitude 50 Limited in 2005 and Alan himself is now mainly involved in the sales, design, implementation and management of Executive Information Systems applications for clients on a semi-retired basis. |
